Bickering

A lot of bickering went on today. No, not between The Man and I, between the birds at our feeding station! We probably had our highest number ever of  goldfinches visible at any one time, 12. that was as well as 5 siskins and 11 chaffinches milling around at the same time!

Through the day we had:
12 goldfinches,
11 chaffinches,
5 siskins and long-tailed tits
3 bramblings and pheasants,
2 blue tits,coal tits, great tits, greenfinches, and redpolls, 
1 blackbird, house sparrow, tree sparrow, and woodpigeon 

15 species in all, but
0 partridges or pear trees!

I hope we do as well at the end of the month for the garden birdwatch.

I wanted to use this shot because, even though at 1/2500th I haven't quite frozen the action, it showed the typical behaviour of the goldfinches.
