Winter sun

Had an early lunch after this morning's pilates class and then walked into town along the canal, over the horseshoe bridge and then over the new foot bridge. It was a lovely, bright frosty day with a beautiful blue sky. 

Did a few errands in town and then walked back. This photo is a view back towards town from under the railway bridge. The sun's reflection was quite striking and I like the movement from the birds. As we walked back along the river we saw a heron come into land on the bank nearest to us. Surprisingly it was still there, motionless and keeping low when we walked past. We watched for a while as it concentrated on the water below. It didn't move when a noisy cyclist dashed past. We got a few photos and then stayed still while a family with two little children stopped to watch. The little ones went very quiet and were very good at keeping still until the heron finally decided to take off for the opposite bank. My extra photo is the obliging heron. 

Got messages from both friends wearing my pussy hats on the London march today. Great that the hats got an outing and also kept my friends warm.
