The Sun on the Cam

Five go mad at Cambridge Winter Ale Festival.

I was swept along by the enthusiasm of my companions, a surreal journey across the Brecks to Cambridge and a taxi ride to Mill Lane. The Mill is the only pub I know in Cambridge!

Pleasant little festival, convivial meeting place for old friends and taste varieties of beer from home, Yorkshire, Wakefield. Fernandes had two brews here, a weird Wheat beer and Centaur. Centaur was nice.

My favourite? Vermont Tea Party, a hoptastic light beer, would go great with fish and chips.

We wandered back through Cambridge, shepherded to our train home. To Norwich and Haddiscoe, now all cold and dark. To a meal in the Queen's Head among friends.
