Father of the Famous

What a fabulous day it was.  Misty vistas everywhere. We walked a part of the Tyne River, and then I headed up to a wonderful panoramic spot for the sunset.  This is a monument to James Maitland Balfour, who was the father of 8 children who were all renowned, including one Prime Minister. I was accosted by a farmer who wanted to know what I was doing.  Well, a camera on a tripod - it's pretty obvious. "It's not my monument, but it's my field" was his parting shot.
