A Living World in A dead Tree Stump
What you see is the slowly decaying stump of a tree felled by hurricane Katrina in 2005.Here in Ocean Springs, it is winter on the verge of spring. We have had a few freezes, some cold sunny days, and a great deal of rain. Now it is wet and warm, and the moss springs greenly from the stump's rotting wood. I find it to be a beautiful example of evolving life.
