Southern Hawker Dragonfly.......
Well it's a Bank Holiday and as usual the weather forecast is absolutely dire, heavy rain predicted from around lunch time. So it's an early start to try and get my blipping back on track.
I was up and out even before the bin men had been, you can set your clocks to our bin men, 6-30am every Monday morning rain or shine, and yes even on a Bank holiday.
Chosing where to go was a lot harder than chosing which image to blip this morning........
Would it be bottom of the garden for the pond, the moat across the road or even a trip over to Chichester.
I finally ended up at Funtley lake, quite a large lake where we used to go fishing when we were members of Portsmouth and District Angling Society.
We did renew our licenses and club membership last year, but never got round to actually going fishing, nice waste of £290.
The water was mirror like this morning with the occasional fish surfacing, i'm suprised there wasn't even anyone fishing.......secretly i wish i'd renewed my membership and license now........
Anyway, this mid air shot of a male Southern Hawker Dragonfly gets to be my Bank Holiday blip, Larger view.. perhaps if i'd gone back this afternoon i could have captured him surrounded by falling rain drops..........i'll never know.
Stay dry.........
