I've spent a lovely day with Scarlett today to make up for not being here for her birthday last week, and it's been just me and her which has been extra special. It's also been a nice break for Rachel and Scott, particularly as Rach goes back to work tomorrow after her maternity leave.

I was invited round to Dave and Wendy's this morning - Alan used to work for them before we moved to Belgium and we've kept in touch ever since. So I took Scarlett with me, and she was very excited to meet George, their 5 year old tortoise, as well as their two bearded dragons. She even fed them berries and live worms, she wasn't the least bit afraid - I've added a couple of extras.

We stayed for a couple of hours, and she'd had such a good time that she didn't want to leave. As we were driving away she said she wasn't happy any more, and when I asked why, she said because she wanted to stay. She's never met them before, so she'd obviously been quite happy there!

I nipped to Dunelm Mill to look for a throw for the new sofa, then we went swimming at David Lloyd, and our final stop was IKEA as I wanted to return a throw that I bought from there. We both had a hot dog too!

So it's been a full day, but we've had lots of fun!
