this little light...

...of mine

remember that old time song - from church days? - or as in my case, it was a song i learned - in sunday school at church when i was probably 5 years old - hard to tell, i was small, people

it's a ditty though, which has stuck with me over all these years - not because of the tune - but because of the words themselves - (this little light of mine, i'm gonna let it shine...)

as i was doing some work in my kitchen today - i had this little candle burning for the scent - at the time, i had something totally different planned to post - but then i found myself getting lost staring into - that flicker of light - thinking about the state of our world today - well, at least my own part of the world - my concern for it - how i need to be a positive light shining in this world - regardless of the fact i am only 1 - i still need to shine - reflecting the love of our abba father wherever i go - in whatever i do - in whatever i say - there is a lot of darkness in our world today - i want to be 'a little light' everywhere - and if i am not, someone needs to tell me because then i don't belong here - yet it is always my hope - my light will be a welcoming beacon to others - so they may always have...
