Passing the winding drum
This morning the freezing fog of the weather forecast didn't materialise and there was brightness in the sky so it was a warmer walk than anticipated.
A lot of people in the group turned up and we had a great walk over Llanymynech Rocks, lanes and back via the canal.
The photo is of some of the walkers passing the restored winding drum at the top of one of the inclined planes. It carried limestone from the quarry on the rocks to the lime working area below before being transported by canal or railway to other parts of the country.
