Chinese Burns
A first for me today. Not the trip to the Scottish Government for a meeting.
Nor this view from Leith of Calton Hill, although the backlighting by the reflecting cloud I don't recall seeing before.
But the "first" was at a Burns evening to raise funds for the Eric Liddell Centre where we had an address to the Haggis in Chinese. Or at least the first verse was. It may just have been a welcome to us all - but sounded good.
It was appropriate as the dinner had been prepared and was served by students from Napier University, many of whom were on a hospitality course and most of whom were from China. Quite what they made of the event I am not sure but we all had a great time.
It was also the first recitation of Tam O'Shanter I've witnessed accompanied by a toy horse head (with a bunnet) which clipppety clopped and neighed.!
