Into the woods

I saw this pheasant perched on the parapet of the bridge, but by the time I'd got my camera and attempted to creep up on him he'd hopped down and was sauntering off nonchalantly. I tried to picture him hesitating over which path to take into the woods - potentially a significant decision for a pheasant, though as I haven't heard any shooting today I assume either would probably have been safe!
