By the Creek

When I was filling the hens' water bucket this morning, I noticed a nurseryweb spider's web on a thistle. Female nurseryweb spiders are often seen in the garden running around with their egg sacs. Just before the eggs hatch, the female climbs up a tall plant and constructs a web around the egg sac thus making a nursery. I could see a large number of spiderlings inside and soon they will be ready to balloon away. Bella had finished checking out interesting smells and came to see what was happening.
