...and there may well be an Australian Water Dragon..Intellagama lesueurii.. still as a statue watching you.
Named for French naturalist Charles Alexandre Lesueur they are a muscly, spiny, beautifully decorated and grow up to a metre in length.

Today we pottered in the Botanical gardens counting dragons and spotting an Australian Water Hen panting on her nest (extra) puffing, fluffing feathers and stoically waiting out the heat of the day.
