I hadn't read in months. I had this novel in mind the last few days. In it, the USA are not governed by one tyrant but two, after the Axis won WWII in 1947. Just like Germany was partitioned between the "victors" in our History, the Germans and the Japanese each have a dominion over part of the USA. The novel tells the story of characters living on both coasts, as well as in between... The neutral zone.
