Bridge No 18, The Shroppie
More mist and fog this morning, but it stayed thick and didn't allow the sun to create some of the magical light possible in these conditions. I wanted to try somewhere different so headed up to Wheaton Aston for a short walk down the Shropshire Union Canal (affectionately known as 'The Shroppie'). I cross the canal further south on my way into work each day.
I also had an unusual task today, photographing the council chains of office and civic regalia for insurance purposes. This all took place in the Chairman's parlour and included the chains from the old councils, amalgamated back in the 1974 local government re-organisation to form the current administrative area. The parlour has, on one wall, lots of plaque's from the parish councils that make up the district. In addition there are other plaques from organisations we have had a relationship with over the 43 years since it came into existence. I've included a shot of the plaques, in extras.
