Oxbacken in Västerås "Najad on dol

Solglitter or Najad the dolphin, is a sculpture by Carl Milles, he created between 1917 and 1918.

During the First World War was the final phase Milles inside an artistic period also marked a change in his style. He created light forms in different small fountains with tritons and naiads. During this period he created include "Archer" at Liljevalchs on Djurgården and "Solglitter" Naiad who rides up on a dolphin.

"Najad on dolphin" is available in several sizes and are set in multiple locations, including in Millesgården on Our Farm in Saltsjöbaden at Skytteholm on Ekerö, outside bathhouse in Trelleborg, on the Main Street at Oxbacken in Västerås, at Rasunda squares in Stockholm, in the Tivoli Park in Kristianstad and in the courtyard to the Swedish Institute in Rome. Najadens head also exist separately [1]. It is said that the sculpture belonged to Carl Milles' own favorites, and one of his most energetic.
