hundreds

I'm not sure what these are called but there were hundreds of them growing on a tree in the woods this morning. I saw the bright orange from a distance and walked over to see what it was. They were growing in patches on the bark of the tree - some very tiny, others a lot larger. A lovely bright orange and they felt rather like peaches to touch. Haven't seen any before.
