It is Friday

This is Gavin Barras totally focussed on his bass guitar.  I tried to convey the intense concentration through this challenging perspective.  With him out in front was Ed Kainyek, (see extra) the awesome saxman.   Ed was on last week's mug
They were 2 of the 4 in the Steve Oakes Quartet, the others being Steve Oakes himself on guitar and Tim Franks on drums.
Some interest was created because I put some Jerusalem Artichokes in the raffle.  They are quite an uncommon vegetable here so they were not taken as and when winners chose their prizes - they became the last prize, but greatly valued by John Davies who was cooking for his wife's birthday today ......and he needed Jerusalem Artichokes!!   This is too much information you might say!  But also he was competing with another guy for these and I saw them sharing the spoils!l  I got the penultimate prize - 6 eggs - well I couldn't take the JA's home although there was a lot of shouting "take the artichokes"!!  After this charade we settled back to a brilliant second jazz set.
