Mystery

I'm sure someone will tell me exactly what this plant (on the Water of Leith) path is. [Update - Garrya elliptica according to the ever knowing meles, thanks!].

After resting my legs (more or less) for a few days, I was comfortable venturing down to Ocean Terminal at lunchtime for a community event, similar to one I attended a few months ago. The rest of the day was spent in relatively productive email shovelling and related activities.
