Balancing Act

Mrs Smith is the proud daughter of a painter and decorator. I'm not. So she does the painting. I make the tea.

After I'd done my bit I popped down to the cafe to have a chat with Ray about piano tuning and playing Charlie Chaplin scores. He also told me his routine of playing love songs on the piano for his wife while she got herself ready every morning. No wonder they've been together for over sixty years.

Later I had to drag the kids along to the dentist and then it was home to sniffle and sip recuperative whisky.
