Disappointing!

We were making one of our periodic visits to Carlisle and inspired by shots of murmurations we have seen and Winterwatch on TV we decided to carry on up to Gretna.

Last time we visited Gretna the murmuration was breath taking.  My brother was with us and we had described what we expected to see.  What a disappointment!  I have seen larger groups of Starlings as they move around the countryside foraging.

This is probably my best shot and really it was only a test shot to get some idea of the required exposures before the "main event" arrived.  Trouble was the main event never arrived.
