The Penultimate Contract Closes
My Dear Fellow,
The last day of my 2nd-to-last contract came to an end in another flurry of inactivity.
I say that. The last hour of my Friday was actually busyish, but here I am comparing it to the rest of my work life. Not to normal people.
Friday evening was spent eating curry and trying to watch the film "Jackie". It is the story of Jackie Kennedy following the death of JFK and is the sort of thing we normally EAT UP.
However, while the curry went down fine, the film was relentlessly arty and boring. I'm going to take art film directors to task here. I mean, when you get an explosion that blows a hero down a hallway in an action film people say it is a "cliche". But when an art film director has a close-up shot of the actor's face while nothing much happens in the background... for a long time... just a little bit longer... no music, obviously... longer... hold it... hold it...
Then that's not a cliche - that is ART.
There was a lot of that in Jackie the film, so we decided we preferred "Drunk History" instead. There was spewing in this episode! Woohoo!
