Wet days in the Lake District can provide challenges for photography as well as for visitors who don't want to put waterproofs on and go walking. 
There are cinemas, shops, museums ............ and an arcade down by the lake in Bowness. I got a colourful blip but didn't see tourists flocking in. 



For the last few weeks I've had very little exercise so with a brightening sky this afternoon I set off on my lake circuit. I was walking along the back road by the river when a car stopped and the driver asked if I was local. He wanted directions to the football club ........ not the easiest place to find. He'd driven around the village three times, asked numerous people and been misdirected twice. I asked if he would like me to get in and navigate and my offer was accepted. I know .......... never get in a car with strangers, 
but I could see he was the referee. A few minutes later I had him at the ground in time for kick-off :)
