Day 028/17. Tiger Longwing.

A visit today to the RHS Gardens at Wisley where the hothouse is full of 6,000 exotic butterflies. With the outside temperature +6 and the humidity about 50% to walk into +28 with humidity of 98% meant the camera and lens misted over in an instant.
Allow 10 minutes for the temperatures to all equalise and I got busy. Superb chance to photograph butterflies in a tropical environment. This is a Tiger Longwing, Heliconius helicale  about 10-11cm wing span. They are found in South America from Mexico to the Amazon......
For anyone within range of Wisley, highly recommended for a visit.
