Mad muddy runners

Went to pilates and then got ready to go for a longish walk. We went back to the Nature Discovery Centre at Thatcham to do the 10K walk we did on New Year's day. It was a bit muddy but lovely and sunny. 

When we got to Greenham Common, we saw lots of muddy and wet runners lumbering around a course. They were traversing lots of waist deep lakes and pools that still had ice around the edges. Apparently it was a brutal 10K cross country race. Definitely not for me!

As we got back to the canal, the skies darkened and we got caught in an unexpected hailstorm. The hailstones made a lovely tinkly plopping sound as they hit the water and we sheltered under some trees. 

Back home for a (very) late lunch and then we both dropped off in our chairs until it was time to pick up son number one from work. 

Nice to get out in the winter sunshine and we definitely did our 10,000 steps today.
