Ghosts in the Wall
Nothing much to report today as I have only just stopped work at 22:30 tonight after a straight 15-hour report-writing stint from this morning. I have to leave the house tomorrow by 05:00 so I am just enjoying a nice Leffe Brun Belgian dark beer before bed.
Tried to snap something in the garden just now, but was too whacked to work out the long exposure. I had this shot as backup from earlier today, which is something I see most days on our landing when if the sun shines. Ironically, the worse my climbing rose pruning is, the nicer the shadow effect.
To my eye there seems to be a ghostly 'face' appearing, which given our house is dated 1848, is probably a fair likelihood I suppose. When J was very little, she sometimes used to point and ask "who is that?" when there was no one else in the room. It used to spook me and MrsB at the time.
They are all friendly spirits here though I think. The house was once called 'Knutsford Hydro' just after WWI. It used to treat old soldiers and let them take therapeutic waters. When we first dug up the kitchen slab, we discovered a deep pit under it, which I now think must have been some kind of plunge pool. Anyway, I digress.
Finished my Leffe, so off to bed. Tomorrow, it's Aberdeen for the day.
