Beautiful Noise
Went for a longer walk today from the Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham up to Greenham Common and back along the canal.
Another day spoilt for choice as to which photo to post. There was a "Tough Mudder" race on the common today with runners wading waist deep through water in places. Some very tired, cold looking people forcing themselves onwards. They were fortunate with the weather though....well for January they were. I've done a few half marathons in my time but these guys take it to a new level :-)
Anyway, on the way back along the canal the clouds suddenly rolled in and little rings started to appear ahead on the surface of the water. Within seconds it became clear why. It was a hail storm. We stood under some trees and just listened and watched. The sound of the hailstones hitting the water was absolutely beautiful.
If you look closely at the photo you can see the splashes as the hail hits the water so I decided to choose this one as a reminder of that experience.
So far it's been a good weekend :-)
