Birthday Girl

It was Mila's (to my right) 60th birthday party this evening.   She was born on 25th January, so I had the idea to invoke the spirits of Robert Burns and Tom Jobim to join the celebrations, both of whom share the same birthday (Burns in 1759 and Tom in 1927).  With a suitable introduction, I recited My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose (no Spaniard understood a word, although one of the visiting Scots said it was the best ever Burns recitation she had ever heard!) and then introduced Viv to sing Girl from Ipanema.   She's a professional singer and did a fantastic job adapting the lyrics to suit the occasion. This led nicely into the singing of Happy Birthday and the present giving.   A great night, only missing Dd.
