Beware the Pogonip!

I learned a new word today: pogonip. According to the Old Farmers Almanac: "The word pogonip is a meteorological term used to describe an uncommon occurrence: frozen fog. The word was coined by Native Americans to describe the frozen fogs of fine ice needles that occur in the mountain valleys of the western United States..." The term is attributed to the Shoshone Native American Tribe.

For about 30 minutes we saw a touch of blue sky. In the extra the bit of blue can be seen through oaks cloaked in freezing fog.

Hoping you are experiencing more pleasant weather, or at least seeing some sunshine!
