A Dot in the Universe

It's only when you look up towards the infinite stars that you really get a sense of your place in the universe...

Today I can't but help  but feel that some in this world, particularly those "in power", take stock of just how insignificant they are in the grand scheme of things. One thing we have in common (and should celebrate each day) is a common home - this tiny blue orb that goes round an ordinary star in the corner of just one of billions of galaxies.

Humility. We all need a bit of it sometimes...

This shot is made up of 48 forty second exposures, taken with my fisheye lens, aimed at the southern celestial pole. These have then been stacked to create the trails.
