PARK RAILING

A water rail posing on a rock in the pond, the first thing I saw when I went for a quick walk in the park this morning and a first for me there, though I've seen them at Saltholme and elsewhere. Our park seems so unlikely! However, the parakeets were much in evidence (extra) and I stalked a nuthatch (extra) through the holly trees. Not bad for a short walk before I had to come back and start thinking about packing me, my work and B up ready for three weeks house-sitting and mother-bothering down south. I've got a magazine to finish and get off to the printer tomorrow, and we're going on Tuesday, but there's lots to do even when we're there.
