Sudden influx of house sparrows

First of all , I am sorry this is posted Sunday AM for Sat. I felt I needed a hefty dose of unreality after the last week's news and watched "The Music Man" last night.
The house sparrow have moved in ( not in the large numbers my Mom used to get by any means- house sparrow #'s have been declining in the US) and the lone pair I had most of this winter has blossomed  to a whopping 6.My exciting bird of the day was a red breasted nuthatch , but as my camera on the tripod was not cooperating  the photos are ...well , not good.I have put out more nuts in an attempt to lure him back.
