ICC sea kayaking trip to Handa from Scourie - after a short break on one of the beaches on Handa, and about to paddle around the island to see the cliffs and seabirds on the more exposed West side.

Could do with a decent waterproof camera to catch the more interesting and spectacular bits on the water. Plenty caves to explore, and other things to see from a craft that needs only a few inches of water to access them. Quite a privilege. There were Puffins too! Lovely day.

Extras:
- after circumnavigating the island, time for lunch. Some other island visitors were brave enough to take a dip. Our lot were more sensible... aside from Steve K's dayglo ex-works over-trousers!
- most of the group having a blether.
- the plentiful Sea Thrift was just coming into bloom.
- Primroses galore on the sheltered East side of the island.
- the more conventional way for visitors to reach the island.
