RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch weekend
After a lazy morning ironing, whilst listening to The Archers omnibus (where has Rob really gone, do we think?) I sat in the conservatory with Jon, Henry and our coffee and biscuits, to count birds. Henry had made some extra bird feeders, plus the biscuits we ate, from recipes that were contained in the Birdwatch pack. We spent longer than the required hour. I think we were hoping for something a bit more exciting than a Blue Tit. Anyway, both Henry and I took a few photos with the zoom lens. I think he took this one. A cheeky squirrel also sat and posed on the fence post.
I did a bit of random baking. My annual attempt at something for the office, to celebrate my birthday 28 days ago! With so many birthdays at work this time of year, I had held off baking. They aren't sweet toothed in my office, but together with some cheese straws, I also made nutty palmiers, which came out a bit small, and then Henry and I made fudge. Proper tooth rotting stuff.
We took a walk along the lane with the dogs before the rain started. It has rained steadily ever since about 4.
Call The Midwife was relaxed evening viewing and a bit of surfing the net. I need to find a new book to read, as I finished mine last night.
Wishing my weekend was longer as I don't feel like I've got much done. Perhaps a couple of rows of my knitting now, before I go to bed.
