It is the time of year when farmers trim the hedges before the birds start to build their nests but after any berries have been eaten. The hedges were very expertly trimmed ensuring that there were still small trees and enough dense cover left for the birds. This weekend people are being asked to record the numbers of different birds visiting the garden so my extra, taken through the window, shows some blue tits on a suet feeder.
