Robin

Some 20+ years ago, Robin and my youngest daughter, fresh out of high school, embarked on six months of backpacking / wandering through Europe.  Hostels.  $25/day.  Freedom from parents.  No email or internet in those days.  Today Robin and Alison reflected on the impact of that experience; on the one hand they came back leaner but on the other they came back with an expanded world view.  All people should travel internationally when they are young.
