MONO MONDAY - SHOOTING FROM THE HIP
I wasn’t going to take part in this week’s Mono Monday challenge, because “shooting from the hip” whilst on crutches does pose quite a problem. We went to Waitrose this morning and after doing some of our shopping, Mr. HCB could see I was struggling and suggested that we go into the café to have our free coffee and then he would carry on.
We sat down next to a lovely couple who said they were in their Eighties - but definitely didn’t look it! I chatted with the lady whilst our husbands got the coffee - and cake - only because you have to buy something extra, which seems a stupid rule, but needs must when the rules state it and it just seems wrong to buy a banana to go with your coffee!
I was watching a lady with her baby and as I put my iPhone on the table to take a shot, realised that Mr. HCB was in the background - I haven’t told him he is in today’s Blip as well as yesterday’s as he might start charging modelling fees! I’m not quite sure whether the look on his face is because the baby was screaming because it was being put back into the pushchair or whether he was concerned because there were no knives!
We sat for about half an hour chatting to the couple who were extolling the virtues of downsizing and have invited us to see their flat - and I think we may go - not that it will convince Mr. HCB that we need to move, because he still loves his garden, but it will be worth having a look.
“Mma Ramotswe sighed.
'We are all tempted, Mma.
We are all tempted when it comes to cake.'
That is true,' said Mma Potokwane sadly.
'There are many temptations in this life,
but cake is probably one of the biggest of them.”
