There and back again

Misty down in Devon

Although it was damp and misty today it stopped raining here this afternoon, enough to take the boy for his afternoon walk at Trinity Hill nature reserve. On the east side of the road there is a large area of heath land which is mainly grassed over and the wet conditions bring out the dark gold colour in the grass. The west side of the road looks out over the Axe valley and our little town which farmlands look mainly green.  To the left of the page the river Axe runs down to the sea some five or six miles away.  The top of the picture runs west some ten miles at Honiton The right of the page runs up towards Somerset and bottom of the page runs off into Dorset
