My Grandma's old radio

I was listening to BBC Radio 4's PM on my Grandma's wonderful and old radio. I originally estimated it to be a late 1960's design, it's in fact a mid-seventies model! It features a dial emblazoned with the nighttime continental stations you could once tune into, as well of course our beloved Beeb broadcasts too. What I find most novel though is how the FM dial only reaches 104.9 (hence the 1049th post) as this part of the spectrum was only deployed officially in 1995. It must have been a very high spec item in its day, a fore-bearer of my Roberts Stream DAB, now listening to the world via the internet, this classic hearing the world via the elusive sky wave.
