Hungry
Yesterday evening at long last managed to call my internal specialist for his weekly "telephone surgery" where one can call in and save an appointment. He had taken a blood test, specifically for Vitamin B at the end of December. Thursday evenings is always a bad time for me to remember to call but managed it at last. He told me the levels were low and iron could also do with a boost.
So today went back to GP as I had the Vitamin B6 and 12 ampules at home and had them (painfully for a wimp like me) injected in a backside muscle. Also picked up an iron prescription and will have it "infused" next week. Apparently they no longer like to inject directly in to a vein.Had to go to GP to get tanked up with Vitamin B6 & B12 jabs.
Didn't take the dogs as I thought with winter flu etc about, the surgery would be packed. As usual had to wait at least 5 minutes. I do wonder why there are such huge differences between the UK and Germany on waiting times for GPs. 99.9% of the time I don't make an appointment. The surgery is only open for a total of 15 hours a week (on 4 days) for "passing trade". Seemingly the Germans have even managed to organise hours and days on which sickness is allowed.
On the way home, saw a group of 4 buzzards by the side of the road having a fight over a dead bird carcass. They are having a hard time at the moment with the snow covering up the mice and voles. We have lost two chickens in recent weeks and have them generally limited to their fenced area which Angie has also covered with a net. They still hang around the garden, usually at lunchtime. Perhaps now more interested in getting at the small birds visiting our bird food tables.
