Savannah?

I stopped off at Stainburn forest on my way to Harrogate this afternoon: its a brilliantly mysterious wood.  At the top of the hill, the wood opens up to an almost savannah like scene.  Apart from the weather, I half-expected a herd of wildebeest to appear!
