Wasp on Snowberry

I tried to ID this wasp.
There is no triangular spot on the episternum so I am ruling out both the common wasp (V. vulgaris) and the German wasp (V. germanica)
I am tentatively suggesting Median Wasp (Dolichovespula media)
It is just unfortunate that the photo doesn't show the right diagnostic areas.

So I think I'll stick with my original title of 'Wasp on Snowberry'.

This shrub regularly attracts wasps, bees and hoverflies. I am trying to get to grips with identifying the individual species that visit - not easy at all.
