We went for a walk to Malminkartano with my father. This area is quite fascinating. The red brick are was built in the 90:s and the neighborhood is design for modern city families who want to live in an modern environment not too far away from downtown Helsinki, its after all jsut 15 minuter by train. I like the italian façade type of architecture, where the middle square center is surrounded by houses. This way the inhabitants have a chance of interacting with each other.

Anyway, a mistake in I see in Malminkartano is the lack of open services. The service center is located in one area and is made without enjoyment and inspiration. I would like to see more of the creative services you can find in Arabianranta.

I tought about my education one day. I have always found a it satisfying analyze citymaps. I have also shown a great interest in city development from a social perspective and I would like to study this subject more. A great follow up for this would be to join an urban design committee. This spring will be anyway filled with studying and I will sure be taking courses that are both useful and rewarding.
