Preparations

It was again fairly quiet at the Bridge café.  It seems that a lot of migrant workers are either not coming or leaving, either because they don't feel welcome or because the pounds they earn are worth less back home. The local news spoke this morning of agencies having to find ways of making work more attractive as recruiting is becoming more difficult.  This could be the shape of things to come.  I then went to the dentist who found two problems that he said would, at best, require big fillings or, at worst, a root canal filling or extractions.  I am not very confident with our local NHS practice as they are always rushing and caused me a painful problem that took seven months of treatment to remedy in France a few years ago.  It was a new dentist who was rather brusque with me telling me off first for not having been for two years and then for having treatment in France in the interim when I was there and wanted to look after my teeth!  I later got on with some packing.
