My parents
grew Jerusalem artichokes at the bottom of the large, sloping garden when I was little.
The same garden in which my dad made an Iron Age hill fort out of snow, and explained why the entrance walls curve the way they do - to leave the unshielded side of right-handed attackers open to archery. Cunning Romans and their tortoise tactics didn't care. They just took over.
