Author's Tea

What a fantastic day I had.  A friend invited me to a program at a school that is for refugee girls.  This is such a special place.  It is a private school that teaches girls 11years on up who are recent refugees who either never had an education or are catching up on their education.  The girls are from 34 nations, or former nations.  Some have lived through awful trauma but they sang and spoke their hearts out.  And giggled and behaved like teens.   I lost it when they sang "This Land Is Your Land" .  If only our leaders could meet these girls.   I am making arrangements to be a volunteer tutor.  For  various reasons it may be a month or two  but eager to start.
