Setsubun

Setsubun is the day before the first day of spring according to the old Japanese calendar.
The day is marked with the custom of throwing roasted soybeans while chanting "In with Fortune! Out with Evil" in order to prevent evil ogres from entering your house and to allow good fortune will come in. Today's the day you are likely to see shop assistants wearing monster masks!

You are supposed to throw the equivalent number of beans to your age. That's a lot of beans!
