Amaryllis

The Amaryllis has reached another dangerous moment in its life. The second flower spike is opening. When the first flower spike reached this stage, it toppled over during the night, and the flower spike broke when I tried to stand it up again. It survived perfectly well as a cut flower, but it proved to be dramatic in ways I hadn't quite anticipated. We've placed some safety barricades around the bowl and are crossing our fingers that no accidents happen overnight
