The Real Betsy

Took Betsy out today to buy new school uniform stuff, plus something to wear to a wedding on Saturday.

I didn't think it would be that easy to get something suitable for a wedding for an 11 year old girl who won't wear skirts or dresses, anything pink, or featuring sparkles, sequins, diamanté, bows, butterflies or ribbons. But Betsy is very good at this stuff, and we got something great that is also very 'her'.

She tried it on to show Chris, and also her new school uniform. She looked so grown up. Then she went and put this outfit back on, and that's how she looks best of all.

I wouldn't have minded skirts or dresses I suppose, but I'm always impressed by Betsy's total lack of interest in looking like all the other girls at school, and I just cannot imagine her in girly clothes with all the sparkles, sequins, diamanté, bows, butterflies and ribbons!
