Tilted

I've wanted to do this for quite a while - namely get up the tower of Great St Mary's with my tilt-shift and experiment with the tilt function.  (I've used 'shift' quite a bit in my ground level shots...)

It was a bit of a challenge, mainly because the relatively small access points in the guard cage didn't quite give me the angle I wanted onto King's College. Using a tripod wasn't possible, even if I could have got it up the tight spiral staircase safely...

The extra of the market place shows the 'classic' miniaturisation or 'toy-town' effect, but I kept being drawn back to this shot. The uncropped shot probably has more impact, but I liked the compression in the square crop - most of what has been cropped out is more out of focus buildings on the left hand side.
